This is was one of 18 powerful films created for interactive online video learning resource ‘A young person’s guide to Restorative Justice’
What is Restorative Justice?
Restorative Justice is a voluntary process that brings together in a face to face meeting those that have been harmed and those responsible for causing that harm.
The harmed (Victim) are given the chance to give their side of the story and discuss the impact that any wrong doing e.g. Anti-social behaviour has had on them.
The wrong doer (Offender) is also given the chance to tell their side of the story and has an opportunity to make amends for their actions and repair the harm.
The aim is to improve victim satisfaction whilst reducing reoffending rates.
